Maryland Freedom Caucus

Yesterday, the Maryland Freedom Caucus issued a joint statement with Congressman Andy Harris regarding the partisan government shutdown. In my view, this shutdown is driven by the 2026 election, as Democratic officials seem more focused on appeasing their fringe base and opposing Donald Trump than addressing the needs of Maryland citizens.

We appreciate Congressman Andy Harris, Maryland’s only Republican representative, for voting to keep the government running. We call on Governor Moore and U.S. Senators Van Hollen and Alsobrooks to prioritize the interests of Marylanders over partisan politics and vote to end the shutdown.
